The Settrington Cup pedal car race at Goodwood Revival is the most-watched race of the weekend, and now YOUR child can be a part of it.

Austin Pedal Cars has teamed up with Goodwood to offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in the Settrington Cup race at the 2025 Goodwood Revival Meeting. Not only will our winner line up on the grid at the most famous pedal car race in the world, but they will also be racing in a genuine winners car from way back in 1955. If that wasn’t enough, family tickets for four will be included for the Revival weekend.

This will be a very historical moment because in 1955, Ted French won the very first Austin Pedal Cars Junior Grand Prix held at Silverstone. His prize for victory was his very own Austin J40 pedal car. Ted enjoyed the car for years, his father working on it to ensure he could pedal for as long as possible. Incredibly the car still wears Teds race number to this day and carries the battle scars from a well used and much loved life, just how we like them!

Whilst writing our definitive Austin J40 history book we learned more about Ted, meeting him to conduct an interview for the book and to take photographs of his wonderful pedal car. It was then we realised that 2025 will mark 70 years since Teds victory, and he owned (what we believe to be) the only survivor of that original pedal car race held back in 1955. We all agreed, it had to race again.

Now, 70 years after its first race, the car will compete once again at the largest and most famous J40 race in the world – The Settrington Cup at Goodwood. And don’t worry, the little Austin will be fully prepared by Austin Pedal Cars to make it ready to race, though will retain its patinated bodywork to honour its place in classic pedal car history.

Together with Goodwood, Austin Pedal Cars presents the opportunity for your child (or a child you know) to pedal this special car on the famous Goodwood Motor Circuit as part of the 2025 Settrington Cup race, a true once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The winning family will need to be available on Goodwood Revival weekend (13th-14th September) and should note that while entry tickets are included, travel expenses and accommodation are not. Please also note that the car will attract media attention, and winners should expect to be photographed and filmed at the event. There will also be a test-drive session, held at Goodwood, ahead of the Revival event – dates to be confirmed.
